Fading Daylight

When the daylight starts to fade
When all my tears start to dry
My breath comes in gasps
And my hand weakly grasps

Looking foward to then from now
I can say with conviction
With finality upon my brow
Then is then and now is now

On that day, I'll look at you
I'll hold your gaze and speak
"Darlin, all these days with you
Have been many, but been too few"

"And if I went back for a re-do
I'd end up right back here
This me, this us, this you
The only change: my love's depth"

But today has tomorrow weakly in view
Even though we both know it's true
In order to live without regrets
We must love each other limitless
