A Simple

I've been sore, but never hurt
Not through and through
Unlike most youngsters my age
And I don't know why it is
Why I get what I want this time
Prayers I said? Words I spoke?
And above the clouds, above the stars
Out there beyond and beyond
In the halls of Heaven
The God over all of everything
And the rain drops coming straight
Down from Heaven wash my face
Looking right back up straight
Up to Heaven with eyes bright
Time stands still as I mouth
Unspoken words from my heart
And all the amazing things just
Around the corner from this
My Corner Drugstore in life
And a car drives by splashing
All the grace that's been puddling
Pooling around my legs and feet
And the moment is lost, the spell
Broken like a pencil in my fingers
All the love in my life, from God
From you, from me, to us to we
It seems completely unfair being
As happy as we seem to be
And don't mistake this on my face
For rain, all these drops you see
Right here on my cheeks are tears
And don't mistake these raindrop
Tears for sadness or un-joy
Right here on my cheeks
I'm so happy, I'm so un-sad
I am decidedly glad
Happy to be
Walking down this street
Alone with my thoughts of you
Alone, walking with God
Still praying and asking Him
To give you everything you need
And to me you are everything I need
Just a simple thought
Just a simple me
A simple you, a simple we
