Then to Now
written by: Tim Gallagher

A summer's evening
Late night quiet
Short detour with you
To listen to the hush
The waves quietly attacking
The side of the dam
And you and I are
Standing side by side
Waiting, looking over
This lake made as much of
Dark evening air and water
As of dreams and time
And looking back
From now to then
And thinking of the words
Spoken from you to me
And back again...
I remember that night,
You were just 18
And I was madly in love
You didn't know any
Good reasons to tell me
To leave forever, but still
Weren't telling me to stay
Forever...
But now...
Looking back from now
To a sooner then
Than that then
You were still 18
But not just,
And the now is then
And the then is now
And forever will never
Be seperating us now

Joy
I like the "forever will never" part.
