it's five twenty nine
and i'm trying to decide
if i should come, if i should drive
and it's right then i realize
that it's you i need to stay alive
and so i hop in my car and fly,
driving into the western sun
and i'm reminded of that song
the one that says hon,
it's all just gift
that we're living with

does it seem like i say
"i love you" too much?
does it seem like i need you?
baby, i need your touch
'cause i'm all rough and dry
and was about to lonely die
but then God gave you, gift
like a rope to me adrift
like a cool rain to seal
these cracks in my heart
and i've started to heal

baby i love you
darlin i need you
sweetie i want you
dearest don't you know
it's all just gift
that we're livin with
