Autumn to Winter
written by: Tim Gallagher

Friend, are you sure you're loved
When the sky is gray, the river is dark
And the moon is big and large and full
Autumn seems better, but it's much too short
And before you know it - leaves on the ground
And everybody knows that winter is next
With it's bitter bite, and frosty glare
Come inside with me, come sit beside
I have a roaring fire, full of love
Glasses full of wine, life, and cider
Let's open a book, excuse me please
I think I must have meant The Book
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
He can make right all the wrong
And even though right outside the window
The storms rage and blow and bluster
The snow drifts up against the trees
And when I go out to get more wood
The snow comes up to my knees
Wolves howl like the forest wind
And you friend, are you still inside
Waiting for my return, are you afraid
A flurry of flakes and a door slam
Then I'm back inside safe again
There's the glow of the roaring fire
There's only one way off this mountain
But for now we'll just have to ride out the storm
