Yellow Iron
written by: Tim Gallagher

Coal burning machines
rumble along this dirt road
I'm inside my house
alone and fearful of them

Yellow Iron
and brown dirt
Diesel Smoke
deep hurt

Burning trees
burning hearts
Lost innocence
burned out stars

Deep scars
knife fights
Progress
at any price

Selfish people
Dynamite blast
Lost innocence
Gone real fast

I hate road construction. I hate the orange and yellow barrels, I hate the way hills are beheaded, and stripped bare of all their trees, only to have them burnt up for no good reason. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a nut, I just dislike ugly waste.

I don't know about things being burned up for no reason, I do also despise the waste that goes on, but there is a reason for it, and there is someone responsible for it. God says to put all the blame on Him for allowing these kinds of things to happen, but He has allowed these things to happen because we have neglected Him, it is our reward.
